Brief Description:  Safety wired pitch servo

I safety wired the bolts that hold the rear pitch servo in place. This is the first thing on the airplane I have had to safety wire. I studied up on the how to in AC-43 and managed to do a good job, I will get some confirmation on this next time the Technical Counselor visits to inspect my work. My solution was to run a continuous wire from the forward attach bolt of the servo, back to the rear attach bolt and then to the bell crank bearing bolt. The bell crank bolt really does not need to be safety wired according to the plans but Dynon supplied a drilled bolt for this installation and is was a good place to end the wire without having to drill a hole in the servo bracket.

After the servo was installed I then installed the tray in the aft section and attached the ELT bracket. I will leave the ELT out until later. I am working towards getting the flight controls hooked back up.

I attached the aft control mount and then spent the rest of the time setting the angle of the bearings to get a smooth movement on the control mount. It is still not there; funny I went through this when I initially installed the controls but still giving me fits. When you tighten the nuts holding the control bearings, if they are not aligned properly then there is a binding and the controls do not move freely. I will finish this up tomorrow, once set I don’t plan to move the bearing bolts again.
