Brief Description:  Fixed aft spread of canopy frame

Time to catch up on my log entries! After starting to fit my canopy skirts I realized that the aft end of the frame was just a little wide. I had a nice snug fit between the fuselage and the skirt except in this area. I took the canopy off, cut some 2x4’s to size to the main canopy support would not move and used a strap then twisted the strap to pull the sides in. It took a couple of tries but now the sides fit perfectly. I would never have tried this if I had a riveted canopy, I am sure a crack would have developed, but the glue is nice and flexible. I don’t think I will have to worry about canopy cracks.

I moved onto the aft part of the skirt, the two ends don’t fit very well so I think I will have to cut part of it out and splice the new parts together. I realize I have much more to learn about doing fiberglass so I ordered some books today and will put off the skirt until later.
