Brief Description: Primed rermainder of rudder skin
Project for today was the bend of the trailing edge. I first needed to prime the rest of the rudder skin interior. I had initially only primed the area the stiffener would attach too, but then I realized that after the bend it would be more difficult to spray the interior of the skin. With the priming all done it was time to make the bend, so into the bend brake it went. After bending as far as I could with the brake the skin still did not sit closed enough. It should sit in its relaxed state so that it is about the size of the spare, not larger, could be a little smaller. So based on my readings I took the hand seam tool and slightly crimped the edge to get the skin to sit down. I was also using a 1/8” wood dowel inside the trailing edge to help prevent from over doing the crimp. From the pictures you can see the skin sits closed just the right amount.
