Brief Description:  Painted first coat on instrument panel

My project for today was to paint the instrument panel. I wanted to tie in the color on all of the power coated parts (Roll bar, mid-cabin support, gear mount etc.) I found a color at the local auto store that is a near match, close enough that I am going to use it, you be the judge by looking at the photos. Side by side you can see a slight difference. I first removed all of the trays that were removable, some are riveted on so I could not do anything about them. I then scuffed cleaned and primed the panel. I primed the back just for corrosion protection. I still need to apply another coat; I want to give it 24 hours before I coat it again. After it dried to the touch I installed it on the plane just to see how it looked. It will get a matte finish of clear coat once all the labels are in place. The matte finish prevents the sun from causing unwanted reflections.
