Brief Description:  Made some CB Labels

I started off early this morning making the font for the labels bigger; I had to go to the copy store to make the prints onto the transfer paper. It requires a laser printer or copier, basically a toner based system not ink jet, which is all I have. First one worked out almost perfect, the FLOOD light label did not work out and the “field” that goes under the alternator labels did not come out. I thought great, I can live without “field” under the alternator labels and I can make a new one for just the flood. Well hours and many failed attempts later I had to make new copies because I had gone through the ones I had made. I was trying to do an entire row at a time and this was just not working, the letters were falling off during the wet bath stage.

I broke up each row into small sections and went out and made more copies, the first one again was good. Then more failures, I finally learned after looking online, each section needs a boarder and the clear Mylar needs to stick to this boarder, this keeps the water from intruding during the separation process, if any water gets in the letter separate. I was getting some separation here but was not paying enough attention to how much. With this new knowledge I tried again with success, only when I trimmed the decal and laid it over the 2nd row, I forgot to make sure it would clear the row above. Once it touched the letter in the row above it was all over, I now need to redo the bottom of this row. I called it quits for the day since I need to make more copies. I really like the look of the decals; it looks like the panel was silk screened.
