Brief Description:  Pitot connection & Securing wires

Next I drilled holes for one more cushion clamp to hold the conduit low to the floor. I was going to run it right along the same line as the battery cable would have run, but I like the idea of it being outboard to give it more clearance from the aileron push rod. The holes in the spar are just outboard of the middle of the right side bay. I may change this back I will have to think about this one. I next moved to the 3 wires for the tail light and strobe. I will be going with the Avero LED strobe and light system. They call for 18AWG wire which seems like overkill to me but I want the wires run so I can get the tail skin installed and I don’t have the time to contact them about this further. I fabricated a little standoff out of some left over stiffener and installed a #8 nut plate to it, this should hold the wires securely. The wire runs aft through a bushing in the F811 bulkhead (where the tooling hole is) and then next to the opening by the tie down block. I will have to figure out how to run the wires up into the rudder later. My supplies came from Stein and the aviation grade wire stripper does make a huge difference from how my Home Depot stripper works. I finished installing the AMP connector for the pitot heat and then secured the wires to the wing rib and added some heat shrink over the connector for extra protection. I started to sort through the wires in the Safety Trim harness, they have big flag type labels on them which make working with them a bear, so I took off those labels and replaced them with heat shrink labels. I should be able to work with this much easier. That is it for this month, I am a little disappointed, I wanted to get some riveting done while I was home this stretch but oh well, best laid plans and all…..
