Brief Description:  Riveted side of Van's toobox

I have been working on the toolbox a little at a time for the last few days. Today was the first time I tried to prime something. I was at the point where I needed to rivet the side of the toolbox on and decided to prime the parts that would get covered up. I used a rattle can of Sherwin Williams 988, self etching primer. I scratched the surface with a scotch bright pad and then whipped down the parts with acetone. I had to buck the bottom rivets because the squeezer would not reach the bottom of the box. I squeezed the others, man I like the pneumatic squeezer. You can still screw it up, I managed to set the first couple on the thin side. I had two I drilled out they were not bad but I wanted the practice. And I need the practice, I enlarged the hole getting one rivet out so I used an oops rivet in that hole. The lid hinge is next but that will have to wait. I had like 3 weeks at home with my vacation and dropping a trip, now I have almost 3 weeks of work ahead of me. Its flying, but going away from home after getting to stay home for so long is tougher than it sounds. I leave tomorrow and return the 14th, then out again on the 19th for another 3days. Until next entry Ciao!
