Brief Description:  Built Rack for Wings

Well today I finally got around to building the rack for the wings. Like others I made mine mobile by adding some wheels to the bottom. I want to be able to move things around when I want room in the garage. I can't believe it took me so long, essentially all day. There was a lot of on the spot engineering, I deviated some from the plans and beefed up the side of the rack. Since the wings in the QB are mostly done I did not have a rib to use as a template. I first tried the wing tips but they were too flimsy to get a good template from, so I used a piece of cardboard and traced the end from the wings themselves. I only had one hiccup, when my wife came home from work we tried to set the first wing in place and the spar would not fit. I had cut one of the notches short by a half inch. I have seen one stand where they added a deck under the wings which makes for a handy storage spot for the flat skins, it also would create a bumper before something runs into the wing, at least something at floor level. I think I will add that feature at some point in the future. I'm happy with the stand, but I did not get the leading edge cutouts angled just right, the spars are not quite level on the mount when the wings are on the rack. The leading edge finds its place in the cutouts and that leaves on side of the spar up a bit. I don't think this will make much of a difference.
