Brief Description:  Airworthiness Inspection - PASSED

Today is the big inspection day, I only go to bed last night at 1:45AM and was up and 7:30 AM, oh well there will be time later for sleep. I spent a few hours this morning making sure I had my paperwork in order then headed out to the hanger. I had a lot to clean up to make the hangar presentable I also still had to rivet on the data plate and install the N-number. I had all of this done except the N-number with two hours to go or so I thought ,the inspector made better time at his previous appointment and arrive early at 1 pm, I have no N-number installed but he agrees I can do this at the end, he does look at the numbers.

The inspection went very well; we started with the paperwork and my log. He just had me run through the log entries and if I reached an item I thought was interesting, I explained what I was doing that day. This went on for a short time until he was satisfied I actually did build the plane. I would like to note that my log has over 500 entries so I am glad he did not want to see them all. We then started at the nose and worked around the plane, wing tail other wing then to the cockpit. He checked things for proper movement and correct installation. Of course he wanted to make sure I had the required labels like the Passenger Warning, Experimental label and the labels of each switch and lever.

He thought I did very good job and joked I had not left him anything to find, I then pointed out I still have the N-number to install! He then read and explained the 4 pages of Operating Limitations. These pages have to stay with the AW certificate in the airplane like the registration. After answering my questions he handed me my Airworthiness Certificate and shook my hand, what a huge weight off my shoulders!!
