Brief Description:  Weight and Balance

Most of today was preparation to weigh the airplane. I had to install the prop which I did then the spinner; I almost forgot the front baggage floor. After double checking that all of the parts are there with the help of a friend we measured from the leading edge of the wing forward 70 inches, this is the datum used to measure the ARM of each wheel. I have a slight difference between the mains of .2 inches. It is odd that Van’s does not supply these numbers, they figure there is enough of a variance in how they get built, oddly enough they do supply the ARM for each of the stations for the pilot, passenger fuel baggage etc.

My total weight came out at 1095, I will do another one of these once the plane is painted and all of the wheel pants are installed but I am happy with my weight, with and IFR panel and the backup alternator I figured I would top 1125, I most likely will end up there after it is all done.

My weights ended up as nose-324 left main-385 right-main 386. My ARMs where Nose-33.75 Left-94.3 and right-94.5
