Okay form looking at my pictures and shot of my white board, which is the way I really track what I have done, I installed the Skybolt fasteners to the flange an then riveted this to the firewall flange. After adjusting the fasteners I test fit with the lower cowl. I am suing these here instead of hinges called out for in the plans because the hinge tends to break there and guys go this route in the end!
I am getting ready to put some fuel in the tanks to drain right out to see what contaminants might be in there. These are quick build tanks (I did not build them), I inspected them with a snake camera but the fuel flush is just to get anything before it can go downstream in the fuel system.
I made a grounded rod that will keep the can the fuel drains into at the same potential as the metal of the plane, ground wires run from the plane to ground and from the plat to the steel rod.
