Brief Description:  Alternator/Starter wires at firewall.

I keep getting a late start but I continue to plug ahead. Today was more work on the engine electrical items. I spent about 2 hours looking at how to support the main alternator and starter wires. The route I used has been used by many builders before me but they get very close to things. I have them set so that in a static state they don’t touch but under “G” and vibration, I just done see how they will not touch. The fuel line is has integral fire sleeve which is similar to silicone, the prop oil line I wrapped with some silicone tape. Other than the fuel line just wanting to touch the only other offender is the starter wire which only has power in it on the ground so I think certain this will work. Hopefully I can have someone with more knowledge tell me this is okay.

I terminated the firewall ends for the main alternator and starter. I also hooked up the wires for the start button and the starter warning light. I tested the function of the start button by hooking up a test light to the starter end of the wire (not yet hooked up to the starter). The “Smart Start” functioned as advertised as well as the warning light. I installed a “Starter On” light to let me know when power was going through the start relay. I have the starter relay mounted upside down so that under “G” there should be less of a chance of an un-commanded closing of the relay. But the light will let me know if on start I have a start relay fail closed.
