Brief Description:  Opened canopy with some effort

After a long day of doing chores I came home and sanded a bit on the windscreen fairing and decided the shape was good enough and I should try to open the canopy. I had used electrical tape on the canopy with a coat of wax in hopes things would not stick I also ran a strap though the rear canopy frame to help.

Well first try nothing, pulled on the strap and the way I had threaded it in the frame left a loop that caught on the real seat bulk head. When I tested this set up I and left some slack above the seatback. I forgot this when I did the final close of the canopy. I should have used two flat straps one on each side. I knew there must be a slight bond at the tape even with the wax so I took flat feeler gage and ran along the edge, I could feel the grip pop loose; after I did this she opened right up. Whew that was close, it is poor form to glue you canopy shut. I have the look I want but worry the aft edge might be a bit thin, I will have to consult with some other builders.
