It was a beautiful day with and nice breeze so I rolled the plane outside to do the sanding on the windscreen fairing. There was a lot of sanding but it is looking real nice. When I was done I applied another layer of resin with filler.
I had made up different PVC tube sizes and glued sandpaper to them I did not like how hard they are, what worked best is a series of different shaped “Dura blocks”. The curve at the front is done mostly with a ½” thick foam block that is flexible. I just pinch it to the shape I want and go to town. The other block I like is flat on one side and a shallow curve shape on the other, you can angle the curve to form what you need, worked nice on the sides where the curves is less acute.
