Brief Description:  Cabin heat Cable

Almost done with the cable; which means I will be doing the canopy skirt and windscreen fiberglass work! Today I hooked up the purge valve and cabin heat cables. For the cabin heat I came through the firewall almost a straight shot from where the control in mounted then looped the cable to an anchor point. For the purge valve, I opened up the hole already drilled that was meant for the brake fluid line. Here I am using the Van’s method of double plastic bushings; I will eventually cover them with high temperature sealant.

The rest of the time I messed with how the fuel sender supply line will run, I still need to pick on up at Vans. I then installed a 45 degree elbow on the port on the #3 cylinder and attached the line that goes to the manifold pressure sender. I used my home made restrictor in this elbow. I had to file a bit of the #3 cylinder because if was in the way. I noticed Vans has you use a straight nipple but another builder has a Superior engine and the 45 elbow work on his, I suspect they formed the cylinder just for this reason. It only took a few 32nd off the cylinder for me to get the fitting installed; I like it because it keeps the hose in tight to the sides.
