Brief Description:  1. Mixture cable

The new mixture cable (48”) came in this morning so I started things off by installing the cable. This worked out almost perfectly, I get full Rich at the forward end but just hit the rear stop on the throttle quadrant before I get to the Cutoff stop on the fuel controller, it is within 1/32 of an inch. If I did not have the Air Flow Performance Fuel system I would be a little concerned but with the AFP system you use the purge valve to cut off the fuel to stop the engine not the mixture like most planes, and in flight you would never get the lever that far aft even with the most aggressive leaning techniques.

After I was happy with the mixture it was time to tighten up all the jam nuts, in order to get at them I disconnected the lever end rod ends and was able to get a hollow center socket over the cable to tighten the big jam nuts. This I was time to get all the cotter pins installed, this was a total PITA but finally done. For the rear seat throttle I install the rod end without the rod while the quadrant was laid open to work on, then after the quadrant was installed I threaded the rod back onto the rod end. I installed the rear seat lever and adjusted the rod end some so I get good travel in the rear lever as well as the front. I had to sand the nylon strips that the rear lever sits between; it was making the movement really stiff. A little work with the sanding cloth and it is nice and smooth now.

Throtte and Mixture were about the same spot, I had room to adjust the prop so all levers match up.
