Brief Description: Prepared wing skins for riveting
Well today marked a shift from the electrical system to the wings. I still need to rivet on the bottom skins and I have a bucking volunteer visiting the next couple of weeks. I still needed to machine countersink the left wing rear spar holes so after doing that I added a scarf to the skin overlap areas for a good fit. The last thing was to spray a light coat of primer under the overlap. I also riveted on the nut plates that hold the covers to the inspection holes.
Tomorrow I will review the plans again then cleco the wing bottom skins on for final assembly. I may actually go ahead and fit the wings rather than waiting to go to the hanger. I will more than likely be working in the garage through this winter because it is warmer. If I rearrange some stuff I can actually get the wings fit while in the garage. I will have to see how fast the wing riveting goes, with the added help it would be dumb not to fit the wings as well.
