Brief Description:  Left side wire bundle

I started working on the route for the wire bundle on the left side, by the fuel line. As good practice electrical wires should be kept away from fluid line and if they are near the wires should stay above the lines so any fluid does not drip on the wires. Well the only way for me to get through under the left console with all the fuel system lines as under the fuel purge return line. My thought was this would be OK since this line will only have fuel in it when purging the fuel injection system on the ground and when shutting down. Just to be sure I posted a picture of what I had planned on VAF, asking any DARs (Designated Airworthiness Representative – these guys do the final inspection before you can fly the airplane) if this would pass inspection and two confirmed that I would be fine with the route.

I still had to pull the two wires that control the flap motor so after doing this I diligently lace tied the left side wire bundle in the area forward of the spar. After I was all done I realized that I still had to install a connector on the autopilot wire harness to attach to the pitch servo and the BNC connector for the transponder antenna. I will have to but my nice lace ties so that I can pull these two items forward enough to work on them.

This wire bundle goes to the pitch servo. It needs a connector, same for the XPDR cable.
