Brief Description:  Left side wire bundle standoff

Wow it has been a long time since I have done any work. Thankfully I have until the 31st off so hopefully I can get some work done. The electrical wiring is like a big puzzle, you think of a route for the wires but then have to analyze that route is going to work out with everything else that will be installed. There is a lot of trial and error, you would think that Van’s would come up with a more specific route in the plans but they don’t, it is just rough line with no call outs for places to tie down the wire bundle

I started off running the cables for the Antennas that will run along the left side, there are 3 of them VOR, VHF1 and XPDR. These take up a lot of room so I had to open up the hole in the F802 to accommodate the size of the bundle. Once I ran the cable and wire it was obvious I needed a standoff to hold a cushion clamp. This entailed removing the rudder pedal idler arm as well as taking out the fuel vent bulkhead fitting on the side of the plane. I used 3/32 pop rivets to rivet in the standoff but they ended up loose, so later in the evening I drilled them out and drilled for some 4-3 Cherry rivets. I think the 3/32 rivets I had where just no long enough or I just did a poor job of setting them. I had to use pop rivets because I did not have the room to buck on the back side of the standoff.
