Riveted the splice plate onto the canopy frame channel. Riveted the two angle ends to the channel, but found one side needed shims, so removed the rivets and made shims from 1/8" stock, ground down a bit on the belt sander and smoothed. Cleaned and alodined. Dimpled canopy skin C-702 and countersunk matching holes in canopy frame. 4 hours for all that.
Clecoed back the upper forward skin F-771 and canopy skin and frame. Crawling underneath, drilled starting holes in the WD-716 frame hinge brackets. Couldn't fit the frame in the drill press--bummer--so hand-drilled out to a #T size, then finished with 3/8" reamer. Will fit back on tomorrow to see how straight everything is.
