Out of town on vacation last week so no progress. Glad to be back working on the plane.
-Finished cleaning up the accessory case threads with a 1/4 -20 tap per the Casper Oil Filter Adapter instructions. -Cleared the mounting surface of previous gasket remanents. -Put the 45 AN fitting on for the oil cooler line - per the instructions -Discovered that I have a fitting on top of the oil filter mounting pad that may be hiding an outdated and uncompatible viscosity valve (precursor to the vernatherm). Had to cut and grind a 1" end wrench to get it off - the spring and plunger were gone - good. Reinstalled and re-safetied. -Installed the oil temp sensor on the filter adaptor body and safetied -Installed and torqued (and torque locked - marked) the 4 bolts that attach the adaptor. -Installed the oil filter -Reinstalled the oil cooler line
Cutting the box end off a 1" end wrench
After grinding the outside of the box end it just fits
Installed - still need to safety the filter but I'll wait incase I need to remove it
