Brief Description: Finished GPS shelf, worked on naca vent and wiring
-Finished up the GPS shelf this morning by mounting the antenna to it and cleco'ing it to the firewall so I can figure out wire runs -Made a pattern for the contact surface of the fuselage fresh air naca scoop so I could use it to remove primer for the bonding area when it gets prosealed to the skin -Marked off the contact surface and used a wire wheel on the dremel to scuff the skin -Then I started on the firewall pentration for the 'big' wires (starter and main bus) -Had to cut the shower rail end off for my firewall exit. -Located it on the firewall and drilled the pilot hole. I ended up using the HF 1 1/4" hole punch I then installed a grommet that fit inside the 1 1/2 ID of the stainless elbow. -Then I located the three attachment holes and drilled same.
I'm trying to prep the pentration and naca at the same time so I can mix up the proseal and seal them both at the same time. I'll also fire sleeve the wires at the firewall exit.
