Brief Description: Mounting ELT ctrl panel and cockpit map light
I actually started to mount the passenger stick grip, a Ray Allen unit, but soon discovered that you had to solder on the PTT wires and I was going to buy a new soldering iron today so I shelved that and worked on where to put the ELT control panel. I decided that I didn't want it in the panel because I would likely replace it with the 406 version when the price get more reasonable. I decided to put it in the right hand F-804 center section channel cap but since it is riveted on I put a cover plate with nutplates over the top of the cap where I could mount the ELT panel and as a bonus I put the cockpit map light there as well. Also for fun, I printed off actual size pictures of the panel components and taped them roughly in position - too fun!
Here's the finished product - came out ok, but I might make a cleaner cover plate later - works 4 now
Here it is in position. The switch for the map light will be on the left side of the cockpit
