Good progress on the parking brake installation today. -Layed out the actuator cable location -Drilled the holes in the left gear tower were the T-handle will mount -Drilled screw hole in the upper horizontal firewall angle for an adel cable that will serve as a cable retainer. -Drilled 2 screw holes in the modified stiffner on the bottom of the baggage floor for adel clamp cable anchors - only used one in the final install. -Marked the cable length to be trimmed. -Trimmed the sheath to length and roughly trimmed the cable to length -Mounted the cable in the gear tower used a plastic grommet for the gear tower exit and mounted with 2 adle clamps, one on the firewall and one on the stiffner. -Functional test showed I need to trim the oversized stiffner to allow for full actuation -Trimmed the stiffner with tin snips and deburred with 3M wheel -2nd functional test was good. -Removed the stiffner and deburred the holes and scuffed for priming -Dimpled the flush rivet holes that attach the stiffner to the baggage floor -Cleaned and primed
Here you can see the T-handle and cable running thru the left gear tower and curving to the valve
Another view-note the modified stiffner (blue)
