Brief Description: Control System Installation #17
Kind of jumped around today to keep busy. With the tail off, I can't finish the elevator down stop trimming or rig the rudder, but I don't want to put them on and not be able to flip the fuselage to finish up the fwd bottom skins.
-Deburred and scuffed the vertical stab front spar attach bracket and spacer along with the horizontal stab front spar attach spacers in preparation for priming. -Riveted the up elevator stop in place on the aft deck. -Drilled the flap actuator attach bracket (aileron outboard is what they call it as it must be the same exact part from the ailerons) to 1/4 for the rod end hole and #12 for the AN3 attach bolts (and deburred) -Reamed the reciever holes on the fuselage for same. -Installed the attach bracket and torqued and torque sealed on the fuselage -Drilled and reamed the flap actuator clevis for 1/4 or AN4 x 3 per the plans (and deburred) -Got out the ground adjustable rudder pedal install kit and started studying the plans. Ironically, I get to remove to of the rivets we installed yesterday to facilitate this option - would have been nice to know that! Oh well, that's what I get for not looking ahead - no biggee.
Elevator up stop and vertical stab attach bracket installed.
Flap actuator bracket being reamed and installed.
The 3 clevis had to be drilled and reamed to 1/4" to accept AN4 hardware
