Brief Description:  Rear seat belt brackets

An unlikely item gave me fits. I seems the plans call for the already fabricated (per the plans) left and right rear seat belt attach brackets to be sandwiched between the aft fuselage lower longerons and support L bracket that rivets to the skin. 3 bolts tie the 3 pieces together. The trick is getting the bracket to squeeze between these two riveted and very stiff pieces that are extremely close together. I actually drilled out the upper L bracket rivets on the right side and ordered new brackets fearing I had drilled the holes without considering the seat belt bracket thickness. When the new brackets arrived from Vans they had the holes pre-drilled - duh! Well it must just be a tight fit. So out comes the pry bars, also known as screwdrivers, and a deadblow hammer (see pic below) it worked great but it was slow going. Including a quick re-riveting the right L bracket it took 1.3 hrs to put 2 brackets in place and insert 3 bolts on each side - patience is a virtue! It came out fine and I'm glad to have that little problem solved.
PS I didn't hurt the end of the bracket with the deadblow (a mallet would be good too).

Here the plans call for the rear seatbelt bracket to go between the 857C & 889 longeron-yeah right!

It's in and bolts are started - putting the bolts in especially the front one isn't easy either!
