Brief Description:  Brief treatise on my trip to OSH 07 vol.2

We camped with principal members of EAA Chapter 9 Columbus, Oh. There was Claire Lutton(building a Sonex w/plans), Dan Lee with his son Noah, & Robert Simon (Lancair & Glastar completed). Nearby was my buddies Mike Cencula (builidng a 7A ), Greg Schroeder (building a Sportsman 2+2), Dana Weigle (thinking Sonex), and Bob Leffler (building a -10). It was fun with all the guys and there was never a dull moment. I obviously loved the RV parking area, but I found it bittersweet as I yearned to have my airplane in the mix. I took lots of great photos and got some great ideas from some the excellent examples on site. We spent some time in the Ultralight area, which was too much fun. Those guys were buzzing around and you know they were having a ball and it was contagious. Once I get the -8 done, I can see something "low n slow" in my future. There is something really pure about that kind of flying - no radios, no glass panels, no expenses, just FUN! We spent some time going through the exhibitor buildings and the FlyMarket(insert trademark symbol here) and then setup our lawn chairs and umbrellas for the airshow, it was excellent as always. After a couple of phones calls back to the mothership and Mitchel desparate to ride his new CR85R, we decided that we could just do a half day on Tuesday and leave basically a 1/2 day early and save the overnight. That worked out well and we saw most of the things we wanted to see. I strolled through the RV area early that morning and I couldn't believe how many there were - maybe hundreds. Many beautiful works of art among them too. The weather was perfect the whole time and I hope it holds out for my friends that plan to stay all week. Next year in addition to flying over, I would like to go on Sunday and stay till Wednesday. I can't wait till July 08'!!!!
