Brief Description:  Brief treatise on my trip to OSH 07 vol.1

(I divided this up into 3 volumes so I could include more than 3 pictures)

I had the dubious pleasure of getting to drive to Oshkosh from Columbus, OH for the 07' convention and after a 9.5 hour hike, I know why airplanes are so popular for traveling in addition to the other positive aspects. Next year I'll try to arrange something a little faster than our 04' Honda Pilot. Anyway, Mitchel and my brother-in-law Roy drove over on Saturday and arrived around 2pm and setup camp with Claire Lutton who graciously offered use a spot of ground at his site (awesome location). Claire works the Awards part of the show as a volunteer and worked tirelessly the entire time. I don't know how those guys do it, but I'm glad we have folks like that around. The weather was textbook - 70-80s during the day and 50-60s at night, perfect camping. Showing up before the show began on monday was an unique treat as we watched the army of people set everything up. On a tip from my buddy Greg, we brought bicycles so we were pretty mobile - thanks Greg. Day 2 was more fun with lots of airplanes arriving and a few vendors open early to sale their wares. We saw a mass arrival of RVs with several locals I recognized - too cool. Monday was opening day and it was amazing. I hadn't been to Oshkosh since 94' and to say it is more commercialized is an understatement. I don't mean that in a bad way, because you could always find the "old Oshkosh", but there were some heavy hitters there like, Honda, Ford, John Deere, Harley, etc. And several jet vendors like Gulfstream and Embraer and I'm not sure if this is their market, but hey it's their money and the free hats were cool!
