Today was a big day. I spent yesterday evening pyching myself up for this morning's session. It took about :30 to get my nerve up and dive in. I carefully measured and marked a centerline on the canooy before cutting the flange away.
That canopy is friggin' big. It took 2+ hrs to cut the flange off. It went well. I used a small 3M wheel on the die grinder to smooth the edge and then went to 150 grit on a sanding block to ensure a smooth edge and thus no cracks. So far so good. I'm glad to have that first step behind me, but I have much more to go.
Laying out the center line with masking tape
Before and after. Used a 90 die grinder.
Lots to go as the canopy needs to touch the windshield bow.
