Started work on rebuilding my elevator trim tab this morning. I "broke" the trailing edge to form the proper wedge shape and I over did it with my big bending (homemade) brake! I managed to open it back up without much distortion. You wouldn't think this little part could be so hard! I then cleco'd the little spar that goes into the trim tab. Then I attached the tab actuator attach brackets and match drilled. Then I cleco'd the hinge on - I already had it drilled from my prevous attempt at building a passable part. I then match drilled the skin and the spar and the hinge. I then worked on fabricating the end plats from E709 elevator ribs per a tip I had seen on VAF. Since I oversqueeze the tab, the "riblets" didnt fit perfectly, but I think I have the outboard one figured out. More to come.
