Matt Dralle of Matronics was kind of enough to point this baggage door strut tip out. He gives you the vendor, part#s and exact mounting locations! Thanks Matt!
-Marked the hole locations in the door and the firewall support. Drilled them out. The bracket on the strut needed to be opened up very slightly to accept #8 screws - don't use a drill, the stainless will grab and tear up the world, just use a dremel with a rotary file. -Mounted the nutplates in the firewall support -Riveted the strut to the door -Screwed the strut to the support. Works perfect. It holds it open and goes overcenter when closed to which hold the door down slightly - too cool!
With my extra time I worked on the manifold pressure line. Put on the aeroquip fitting and put the steel 45 on the engine (I removed the previously installed allum straight fitting).
