I decided to bolt the oil cooler to the baffles using metal lock nuts rather than installing nutplates. I'm not sure why nutplates were called out in the plans given the easy access for using regular nuts. I've found that it's too easy to cross-thread nutplates when used in conjunction with long bolts.
