I masked off the edges of the top cowl and painted the inside using a rattle-can of Rustoleum high temperature white paint. However, this went on very thin and didn't look like it was going to seal very well so I decided to head back to Home Depot and pick up a small can of Rustoleum high-gloss white enamel and brush it on. I was very pleased with the oil-based enamel. It sealed things up nicely. I'll brush a second coat on tomorrow.
