Brief Description: Flox End Ribs/Caps on Inboard Sides of Ramps
There have been several posts on the RV List's and Vans Airforce forums of people capping off by fiberglassing over the inboard ends of the inlet ramps to improve cooling. Apparently high pressure air can sneak under these ramps to the lower unpressurized portion of the engine compartment resulting in a loss of coolling airflow.
I decided to make little end ribs out of some honeycomb pieces my brother gave me that were left over from his Lancair 320 project and flox these in place. I covered them with peel ply as well so I won't have to do much sanding before adding a layer of fiberglass over the ribs to help secure them to the ramps and top cowl.
