Brief Description: Drill EDC-D10A Bracket to Vertical Baggage Support
The Dynon EDC-D10A remote compass needs to be mounted at the exact same angle as the EFIS itself, which is tilted 8.1 degrees on my panel according to Matt's digital level/compass.
I started by drilling out one of the upper rivets on the vertical support channel behind the baggage area and then drilling one #30 hole in the 1.25" side of the angle on the bracket I made. I then clecoed the bracket to the support channel through these holes and used the digital level/compass to position the bracket/compass exactly 8.1 degrees. I used a vise-grip lock-clamp to tightly hold this angle while drilling the remaining 3 holes. I can't actually screw the bracket in place until I order some brass nuts. I have some brass screws but no nuts to go along with them and I definitely don't want to use steel nuts anywhere close to this unit or it will mess up the accuracy.
