Brief Description:  Run Engine Control Cables through Firewall

In these pictures you can see how close the firewall eyeball mounts for the engine control cables are to the electric fuel pump on the inside of the cabin and how close they are to the engine mount on the forward side of the firewall. With Daisy's help though we were able to punch the holes for the eyeball mounts and tighten everything with me working laying on the floor of the cabin and Daisy working from the outside. The eyeball mounts were sealed with high-temp RTV.

I wasn't quite sure whether to run the engine control cables over or under the rudder pedal tubes. You can see that I chose to run them overhead to keep them tucked out of the way but they may be just a little too short to do this. Both the mixture and throttle cables rub on the steel tubes and they also take fairly aggressive bends from the panel/subpanel mounting plates over the tubes and then again as they penetrate the firewall. I didn't see anything in the plans as to how to run these cables. I'll have to break out the old Oshkosh, Sun 'n Fun, and Oswego pictures to see how others have routed these cables.
