Brief Description:  Final Sanding Along Side Rails; Open Canopy

It was rather difficult popping the canopy open after glassing over the sides, even with the electrical tape and duct tape that were used. It took a lot of sanding along the sides to get down to the tape and then both of us lifting on each side for it to finally break loose. What a perfect sight though looking at the side rails from underneath! The fiberglass/micro filled in all of the gaps and also provided a relatively thick side rail in comparison to just the side skin that would ordinarily be there. Very nice! Perhaps a little heavier but it will definitely seal up nice and not allow any wind or rain through. The only problem I see is on the very front corners. The fiberglass hangs down approximately 1/4" below the aluminum skin but tapers down to just about one layer of thickness at the corners. I see these chipping or breaking off very easily unless they are reinforced from the back. I'll probably add 2 layers of fiber glass on the inside this time and form it along the edge and the flange of the canopy rail to strengthen the corners to prevent this from happening. I am VERY happy with how everything turned out. Thanks again Matt!
