Brief Description:  UHMV Tape Top Skin; Debur Hinges; Cleco

Today I started working on the forward portion of the canopy frame. The first step in the instructions said to apply a strip of UHMV tape to the forward edge of the top skin. This will presumeably help prevent catching and chaffing as the canopy is rotated over the fixed 'hood' portion of the forward fuselage.Next I spent some time rounding off the tops of the gooseneck hinges that are welded to the canopy frame. This should also help prevent binding against the forward top skin as the canopy rotates about these hinges. I also broke and tapered the forward edges of the goosenecks so they will easily slide between the UHMV blocks and not catch on these as I install and remove the canopy frame about a million times while building the canopy.Once this was done I clecoed the top skin to the canopy frame. The whole contraption is pretty flimsy at this point.
