Brief Description:  Debur, Dimple, Edge Prep, Alodine Floors

I seemed to waste a lot of time today doing what should have been simple things. I started the day by deburring, dimpling, edge prepping, and alodining the baggage floors. This was fine but deburring and dimpling the F706 was a pain. This was really my first taste of crawling in and under and around things to reach what I needed to reach. I'm pretty small but not small enough to really work comfortable in the baggage area. I also had a tough time trying to decide where to run the wiring conduit through the F706 and F705 bulkheads. I sent an email to Van's asking them if would be ok to punch holes in these bulkheads. I was particularly concerned with the F705 which is what the rear spar of the wing bolts to. They said anywhere would be fine. After deburing and dimpling the F706 bulkhead and side covers for the floors I drilled the holes for the conduit using a unibit. You'll see where these ended up in the next entry. After drilling these holes I decided to bolt the plastic flap blocks to the F705. Mistake. I should have thought ahead a little. These have to be installed and bolted after fitting the steel flap control mechanism's into the blocks. There's no way to sqeeze these steel tubes into the plastic blocks otherwise. Oh well, those will have to come out. I'll wait until another day since they were a pain, literally, getting them in.
