Brief Description:  Cut J-Channels; Cleco Aft Fuselage

The rest of today was spent cutting the J channels to length and making the notched cuts in each end. It wasn't clear in the plans if both ends needed to be notched or not but trail fitting them to the aft fuselage made it apparent. Both ends of each J-Channel did indeed need to be notched. Once the J-Channels were done I pulled out the saw horses and started clecoing the aft fuselage together. This was very exciting! It was also a bit challenging. The bulkheads were first clecoed to the bottom skin, then the J-Channels were inserted, then the side skins were clecoed on, and finally the tailcone was added. I spent a great deal of time trying to coerce the tailcone into place so that all of the prepunched holes lined up. I got very frustrated and decided to leave this for another day. I didn't want to boogger up the holes prying them together with a punch but everything seemed to be way off. I'll deal with this later when I am not so tired. All and all though, this was a great weekend! The longerons bends are done and the aft fuselage is clecoed together. This is going to take a LOT of space up in my basement!
