I clamped the z-brackets to a piece of wood laying on the workbench and countersunk all of the holes for the nutplate rivets. I used the new, smaller-diameter countersink cage that I bought at Sun-n-Fun which worked out great on the narrow flanges of the z-brackets. Once all of the rivet holes were countersunk and everything else deburred, I used the hand- squeezer to rivet the nutplates to the z-brackets. I probably should have waited to rivet the nutplates on until after I had primed the z-brackets. No biggy, I will just have to prime with the nutplates in place. The bolts may be a little tighter going in if I get too much primer in the threads of the nutplates. The final thing I did to the z-brackets prior to priming them was pull out my dremel scriber and number them. I etched the web of each z-bracket with the appropriate number corresponding to the numbers I had written on the spar with the sharpie. I definitely do not want to get the z-brackets mixed up.
