Brief Description:  Measure & Drill Center Holes- Z-Brackets

Per Dan Chekoway's great web site instructions and based on how well this worked on the left wing, I measured and drilled the 3/16" center holes on each of the Z-brackets. Each hole was drilled in the center span-wise but not on the center lline of the flanges. Six of the seven brackts were drilled 1/16" closer to the web and the other bracket was drilled 1/16" closer to the outer edge of the flange. The 6 closer to the web will move the brackets over just enough to allow the pop-riveter access for riveting the brackets to the baffle and ribs. The 1 that was drilled closer to the edge of the flange is the inboard most z-bracket that will not get nutplates. The nutplates for this bracket are riveted to the spar itself. Consequently, there needs to be enough room for the head of the bolt without hitting the web of the z-bracket so this one had to be drilled 1/16" further away from the centerline and towards the edge of the flange and away from the web to provide this access.
