Brief Description: Bolt & Safety Wire Right Fuel Tank Attach Brackets
The fuel tank attach brackets are designed with a slot so the bolt can pull away and the wings can separate or bend backwards in the case of an accident. These bolts are lightly torqued. The challenge was to figure out a way to safety wire these bolts without adding to the breakaway resistance between these brackets. I ended up drilling a small hole in the center of the aluminum fuel tank brackets rather than in the steel fuselage brackets so the safety wire would not physically tie the two brackets together. It took a couple of attempts to finally settle on a scheme that I was happy with.
