I received a letter from Van's today, 2 days after completing my Rudder, indicating that the spin recovery characteristics of the RV-7/7A were not very good. They are replacing the Rudder with the larger RV-9/9A Rudder for all future kits and offering free RV-9/9A Rudder kits to anyone who has an RV-7/7A kit. I went ahead and placed my free order but they said due to the large volume of Rudder's that they will have to manufacture, the Rudder shipments will be prioritized based on where you are in construction - Flying RV-7/7A's get first priority, followed by those with finishing kits, followed by those with fuselage kits, followed by those with wing kits etc. Oh well, I am really enjoying the builiding process and really don't mind building another Rudder...
