Brief Description: Rolled and Riveted Leading Edge
Daisy helped me roll the leading edge. This was MUCH more difficult than it seemed. We found it easiest to roll one section at a time. Daisy used the vice grips on a 1" wooden dowel that was duct taped to the leading edge. I pushed down on the dowel to make sure that it did not raise up to leave a crease along the spar. Once everything was rolled, it took some additional bending to cleco the edges together and finally rivet this section. I made sure the rivet heads were flush with the skin. It actually turned out very nice but turned out to be a fair amount of work. The second picture shows the blind rivet that was used in the corner bottom hole of the trailing edge where I couldn't get anything in to buck. I tried an old flat steel hinge. It fit but did not apply enough force to form the shop head. I eventually gave up and pop riveted this hole. I made a mistake though on one side in that I used too large of a pop rivet. I will shave the head of this later. Other side-correct rivet
