I spent this evening cleaning and priming the spar components. I switched from SEM primer to Sherwin Williams 988. The color looks the same and it was a little cheaper than the SEM. Also, the 988 primer rattle can indicates that it does offer some corrosion protection while the SEM can did not. As it turned out, I like the 988 much better from the standpoint that it did not spew primer in large splatters from time to time like the SEM did. I was able to finish priming the spars tonight but it started raining before I could get to the ribs. I did finish cleaning the ribs so they should be ready to prime in the morning once the rain clears up.
