Next I removed the horizontal stabilizer tips and countersunk them. Like on the elevators, I couldn't use the microstop countersink cage because of the lip on the flanges so I had to use the bit freehand without the cage. I used my 1/8" countersinking jig plate behind each hole to keep the pilot of the countersinking bit from wobbling and enlarging the holes. I did pretty good at judging the depth of each countersink.
