Brief Description:  Left Wing - Rivet Bottom Skins

Matt is down visiting again since he had to take Mikhail to the airport for his flight home. I'm on-call again this week so I couldn't spend any time with him during the day working on my project. All we could manage to do this trip was rivet the bottom inboard skin to the left wing. We didn't have time to do the outboard skin. Darn! Just one more skin and the wings will be done. Oh well, the outboard skin will have to wait until I can get more help. The inboard skin turned out to be a bear! For one thing, I have to use my left hand to buck the rivets instead my right hand. This was definitely a challenge reaching everything and balancing the bucking bar with enough leverage to properly set the rivets. The other thing that made this quite a challenge was me riveting the 4 wing walk ribs a couple of weeks ago. I shouldn't have done this. You really need to work in a V shape doing a few rivets along the rear spar and then a few rivets down along the ribs, etc. By riveting the 4 ribs and leaving the rear spar until I had help I ended up working myself into a corner. I couldn't peel the stiff inboard skin back far enough to set 3 of the rivets along the rear spar. Part of the problem is that I don't have a bucking bar that is long enough for me to reach the rear spar when I have my arm through the lightening holes in the ribs. I'll have to either use pop rivets for these 3 or find a long bucking bar. Oh well, I'm just happy that we got as far as we did today. Only one more skin to go to finish up the wings.
