Today was a long day of deburring and polishing the lightening holes on all of the main ribs. This was done with a Scotchbrite wheel in the die grinder. Very messy. Between the dust and the oil/water that was spewed out of the die grinder, this made a mess of the ribs and the basement. I'm always glad when this step is complete. The next step was to use the hand seamer's and a square to make sure the flanges on the ribs were at right angles to the web. The final step in preparing the ribs was to use the fluting pliers to straighten each rib. Notice how flat the stack of ribs lies after they have been straightened. And notice how warped they are when they are stacked before being straightened. I still have many main ribs to straighten...
