Brief Description: Countersink-Nutplates on Bottom Flanges
Now that I am an expert on nutplates having done about a billion of them along the top flanges it was time to repeat everything for the bottom flanges. This time I followed the manual and riveted on the nutplates before countersinking the holes for the screws. The nutplates were used to guide the pilot on the countersink bit. This insured that the screws holes in the flanges lined up perfectly with the screw holes in the nutplates. Anyway, I countersunk all of the rivet holes along both bottom flanges using my little temporary doubler plate as a jig, deburred all of the holes along the inner face of the two bottom flanges, and then riveted all of the nutplates on.
